Locally based Domestic Violence program, YWCA Monterey County, ussues warning based on figures from police reports, women’s organizations and newspapers in China at the start of the outbreak that domestic violence tripled during the outbreak.

“Here in Monterey County we are preparing for a possible increase in teh number of clients we server through increasing safety measures in our shelter while being mindful of the health and wellbeing of our staff. Close working relationships with law enforcement, the courts and other sectors are even more crucial at this time and we are fortunate to have a long-established network of co-responders in the county.
