Potential for Covid-19 to Increase Risk to Women and Girls
Locally based Domestic Violence program, YWCA Monterey County, ussues warning based on figures from police reports, women’s organizations and newspapers in China at the start of the outbreak that domestic violence tripled during the outbreak.

YWCA Monterey County has served the Monterey region for over 50 years, providing shelter and wrap around services for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. Services include individual, family and child therapy, legal assistance and transitional housing assistance in addition to basic shelter, food and transportation. YWCA-MC also provides preventative educational and outreach programs and training for community responders.
