Transitional Housing Program

Transitional Housing program through YWCA-MC is helping fight homelessness.

Our Transitional Housing Case Manager has continued to place families in safe, affordable housing accommodations. Successful placements are made possible through flexible financial assistance as well as relationships with local property management companies. We also have strong community partnerships, and holistic case management. This program is currently working with six Monterey County families. These families will obtain Housing Choice Vouchers which will allow them to move quickly to the next stage of obtaining safe, permanent housing. Furthermore, we have recently strengthened our collaboration with Sun Street Centers to improve referral pathways for individuals experiencing housing insecurity, domestic violence, and substance abuse. Along with our Legal Advocacy team and Shelter Services team, the Transitional Housing Case Manager has begun to work closely with staff at Sun Street Centers South County location to improve outcomes for target clients.

Progress in Transitional Housing

Our Transitional Housing program is continuously evolving and creates a clear path to stopping homelessness in our Monterey Community. We recognize the threat to families security as they face not only the pandemic but the economic crisis that has ensued.  Families are struggling and we are doing the best we can in responding.  Our programs provide the necessary support to make difference.

If you are able to support our programs, please consider making a donation.  The YWCA-MC runs on the generosity of others.

If our mission to eliminate racism and empower women feels like something you can support, please donate today.
