De Paesano A Paesano program is our community based Food Bank in Monterey
YWCA-MC continues to provide relief to our community. Launched in July 2020, the De Paisanos a Paisanos Program is an initiative to address the needs of the YWCA MC clients and client families who are experiencing heightened economic insecurity due to Covid 19 , immigration status, and inadequate access to forms of relief. With generous support from Community Foundation of Monterey County and the Monterey Peninsula Foundation , we have been able to distribute food, hygiene items, and other essentials to clients on a biweekly basis. We have also been able to help with flexible financial assistance to cover transportation costs, legal fees, and some education costs for children of our clients.
The De Paesono A Paesano program is invaluable to those people who need extra help. Families are faced with an impossible choice of where to spend their limited budget. Our food bank in Monterey makes a tangible difference. Food is a human right, a necessity to live.
