Community Foundation Helps
Community Foundation of Monterey helps the YWCA-MC by awarding a large grant to keep operations running and help women of Monterey County. The Community foundation shows they are truly "here for good".
The timing of this grant couldn't be better.
The YWCA Monterey County has been struggling to fill the needs of women all over Monterey County. The calls to our crisis line has increased threefold. The Coronavirus is negatively impacting the lives of many women in more ways than illness. With women all over the county having to Shelter in Place, some with their abusers makes it extremely difficult to stay safe. The high stress of the order is also causing families to become at risk of violence. As the weeks of quarantine draw on, it becomes more difficult to provide services. YWCA-MC is a nonprofit that runs on the generosity of the Monterey Community. Without community help, we cannot provide the much-needed services.
The Community Foundation Helps Women in Monterey County
The Community Foundation of Monterey recognized the challenges of the Shelter in Place order and how that has affected our efforts to protect women from Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking. We have been asking for help and the Community Foundation of Monterey helps by hearing our call. The Community Foundation of Monterey has been working to help the Monterey Community for decades. They respond during crisis by allowing us to access the funds that have been raised specifically to help residents of Monterey County. They boldly stand for good and the help they provide is priceless.
We want to say Thank You to the Community Foundation of Monterey. Without this grant, we would continue to struggle to support women in need.
