Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Contributes $1 Billion to Fight Covid-19

Jack Dorsey Contributes $1B

Jack Dorsey, founder of Twitter and Square, contributes $1B and joins the fight against Covid-19.

April 7th, he tweets:

I’m moving $1B of my Square equity (~28% of my wealth) to #startsmall LLC to fund global COVID-19 relief. After we disarm this pandemic, the focus will shift to girl’s health and education, and UBI. It will operate transparently, all flows tracked here: https://t.co/hVkUczDQmz— jack (@jack) April 7, 2020

This is a much needed move by one of the tech worlds major players. Dorsey is specific on where he wants the money to be focused after we fight the virus. UBI and women’s health and education “represent the best long-term solutions to the existential problems facing the world,”. It’s refreshing to hear this mogul acknowledge the importance of women’s health and education.

Unlike the name of the global fund, Jack Dorsey did not #startsmall Donating almost a third of his wealth is a bold move.  American’s are paying attention to the behavior of influential companies through the pandemic, and Twitter and Square will score high.
