Our Biggest Fundraiser MC Gives!
We are incredibly proud to be one of the nonprofit organizations participating in this year’s edition of fundraiser MC Gives! , a year-end fundraising campaign that is made possible by the collaborative efforts of the Monterey County Weekly, the Community Foundation for Monterey County, and the Monterey Peninsula Foundation. Monterey County Gives! launches on November 12th and continues through December 31st. Look out for more information about the campaign in our next digital newsletter, on our website, and across our social media channels.
Three heavy hitters combine their fundraising efforts
Monterey County Weekly, the Monterey Peninsula Foundation and the Community Foundation for Monterey County, MCGives! This campaign spurs local businesses to donate to the non profit of their choice. Each nonprofit receives 100% of their donations, along with a match on the first $75,000 raised which impacts the YWCA-MC tremendously. Since 2009 more than $27 million has been raised and granted.
This community based fundraiser provides the necessary funding to the YWCA-MC’s continued mission to eliminate racism and empower women. We have been promoting our services to make you more aware of what we provide. Now more than ever our clients are struggling. Maximize your donations during the months of November and December to support your community.
Some changes to be aware of in order to stay safe, the Community Foundation of Monterey County has created these guidelines:
•It’s best to give online
•If you want to give by check, mail it directly to the CFMC Monterey office at 2354 Garden Road
Monterey, CA 93940
•If necessary, please call in advance to arrange a time to deliver your donations and receive a receipt 831.375.9712
Testimonial
One of the clients recently supported by YWCA Monterey County is J, a single mother of four children. J and her family had been living in an abusive household for many years. She came across the YWCA in her search for resources for herself and her children. As J began her journey with the YWCA, she was enrolled in the Housing First Program and started working with her case manager to find a safe, permanent living situation. With the help of the Housing First Program, J’s family was able to receive rental assistance as well as new beds and other furniture items that completed their new home. After experiencing years of abuse, J and her children can finally live in a home free from violence.
