A Pandemic, Systemic Racism, Climate Crisis

pandemic systemic racism climate

We are now all faced with three interconnected crises – a global pandemic, systemic racism, and the climate crisis - that have exposed systemic inequities that disproportionately marginalize people by race, class, gender, ability, age.

Each crisis is requiring us to imagine and activate solutions that are not band-aid reforms but ones that build a more just and compassionate society.

The YWCA Monterey County has responded to the global pandemic, systemic racism, and climate crisis with pivoting programming, staffing and funding priorities to address all 3 crises simultaneously.  This has only been made possible by the generosity, recognition and support of people like you.  People interested in our activities, client base and supporting us financially with donations and financial support which have allowed us to quickly and safely pivot our programs to address the immediate and long-term impacts of COVID, act on innovative ideas, and introduce a culture of continuous learning for all staff.

To continue the work we do, please consider donating to our mission to eliminate racism and empower women.  It's people that care about these values that will pull us together to overcome the trifecta.

If our mission to eliminate racism and empower women feels like something you can support, please donate today.
