Breakfast of Champions, the kick-off event in our Hearts and Minds
On October 18 from 9:00 – 10:30 YWCA-MC held our Breakfast of Champions, the kick-off event in our Hearts and Minds 12 month series of events. Thanks to our Lead Sponsor, Clinica de Salud del Valle de Salinas and our Advocate Sponsor, Natividad we packed the room at Community Foundation for Monterey County (shout out for the use of the conference room!). With donors, sponsors, funders and many of our wonderful community partners in attendance, we enjoyed a nice breakfast spread and introductory remarks from our Board Chair, Judy Tschirgi.
Our main event was the introduction of our new CEO, Christine Duncan, who emphasized our commitment to cooperation with all the many players in Monterey County who work to improve the lives of vulnerable residents. We finished up with Taryn Keane, Community Resource Supervisor, who spoke on the many activities we undertook as part of a Week Without Violence.
